If you want your guest to be on the LAN along with your host PC and all the other LAN-attached devices, use Virtualbox's Bridged, and point the guest network card at your PC's Ethernet port. This is not necessary to get access to the LAN & internet from your guest. I installed Kali Linux 2019.3 in VirtualBox 6.1 now I'm trying to be able to ping the corporate network my laptop is part of.
